PULSE - Pop-Up Exhibition by 125 Space
On September 12th, 125 Space was delighted to inaugurate Pulse, a pop-up exhibition at the Aphrodite Amathusia Cultural Centre, bringing together the works of Tony Green, Laxmi Hussain and Anna Kalinitschenko.
It was a wonderful evening, made especially meaningful by having all three artists with us for the opening. Welcoming them into the space alongside friends, collectors and visitors offered a unique opportunity to experience the exhibition through both the works themselves and conversations with the artists about the stories and ideas behind their practices.
At the heart of Pulse is colour — not simply as a visual language, but as a source of energy, memory and emotion. Across three distinct practices, colour becomes a means of expressing something deeply personal: from Tony Green’s vibrant and playful reimagining of Western iconography, to Laxmi Hussain’s intimate blue linework exploring the body, motherhood and remembrance, and Anna Kalinitschenko’s luminous compositions built through layers of colour, transparency and light.
The opening also marked a special moment for 125 Space, as Pulse is the first exhibition presented beyond our own space, taking 125 Space to a new seaside pop-up location. With the Mediterranean as its backdrop, the setting felt particularly fitting for Pulse — an exhibition centred on colour, movement, energy and connection.
